At the core of our operations is a commitment to sustainability. We specifically focus on processing and cultivating fast-growing acacia trees, which are perfect for exterior projects due to their high density and resilience in facing various weather conditions. Our acacia trees are sourced from European forests, ensuring that our hardwood has a low environmental impact compared to exotic alternatives that often face increased shipping costs.

In fact, acacia is the only European wood species classified as Use Class 4 by both the British Standards Institution (BSI) and the Commonwealth Standards Network (CSN). This classification makes it suitable for outdoor use, even in contact with soil and fresh water. Acacia wood exhibits excellent stiffness, flexural strength, and resistance to environmental impacts, as specified in the British Standard EN 335: 2013. It's worth noting that while other woods such as chestnut and hazel can also be used outdoors (classified as Use Class 3), they should not come in contact with the ground.

Furthermore, acacia wood's heartwood has been extensively tested and assessed for its natural durability against wood-destroying agents like decay fungi, insects, marine borers, and bacteria. These tests comply with the standards outlined in BS EN 350: 2016.
