The product is categorized into two categories: Premium and (1). In the Premium category, the color of the apples must be at least 75% of the surface of the red fruit. These apples also fall into the extra waxed category and are not packed in a bag. The Royal Gala apples in this category have a minimum caliber of 65 mm. This category ensures that the apples are of good quality and exhibit the characteristic shape, caliber, and color of the variety. The pulp should not deteriorate, but slight defects of form, development, or staining may be allowed. Additionally, there may be slight defects of the epidermis, as long as they do not exceed a certain limit.

In the (2) category, defects of shape, development, and staining are admitted, as long as the fruits maintain their minimum characteristics. However, the pulp should not have any serious defects.
