Description

The manufacturer of microprocessors from China has acquired its French competitor from the investment company CVC

According to Reuters and the Financial Times, the company CVC sold the French manufacturer of microprocessors Linxens to the Chinese Tsinghua Unigroup more than a month ago for $ 2.6 billion. However, the parties preferred not to spread the fact of the transaction.

The editions note that such a delay in the announcement of a deal is rather rare. Basically, deals of this magnitude become known almost immediately after the signing of the agreement. Experts believe that the delay in the announcement of the deal is due to tightening control by various countries for transactions in strategically important sectors in which foreign companies, especially Chinese, participate.

The Chinese authorities, in turn, also take under special control the deals on the purchase of local companies by foreign investors.

As noted by Reuters, the deal between Tsinghua Unigroup and Linxens requires the approval of German and French regulators, as well as the Linxens trade union.

At the end of last year, Chinese Tsinghua Unigroup increased its stake in the Anglo-German manufacturer of microprocessors Dialog Semiconductor to 9%.
