The Chinese company Byton, founded by immigrants from BMW and Infiniti, presented a prototype of an electric car at CES 2018 in Las Vegas. The car will go on sale before the end of 2019, writes Fortune.
The cost of the base version of the crossover will be $ 45 thousand. It is expected that on one charge it will be able to drive up to 400 km, and 30 minutes will be enough to charge the battery by 80%. Now the company is working on a version of the car, the reserve of which will be 500 km.
In Byton, the crossover is called the first smart intuitive car - it will monitor the owner's condition, including the heart rate, pressure and weight. All information about the owner will be stored in his personal profile. The car will be able to recognize it thanks to face recognition technology.
The electric car is equipped with a 49-inch screen, which occupies almost the entire instrument panel. It is designed to run extra features and nudity. The crossover, which will go on sale in 2019, will have a third level of autonomy, but in the future the system can be upgraded to the fourth level.
In mid-December, sales of electric cars began the Chinese start-up Nio. Crossover E8 costs almost twice as cheap as the Tesla Model X, it can travel 500 kilometers on one charge and fully charge in 8 hours.
