Basic information
Flexible silicone heaters, such as our silicone heater mats, offer a high level of resistance to temperatures up to 200°C. The self-adhesive foil on these heaters should not be exposed to temperatures above 180°C to prevent damage. However, short periods of higher temperatures, up to 230°C, can be tolerated without harming the heater.
It is important to note that predicting the exact temperature within the application can be challenging due to various factors. These factors include the power or surface load of the heater, the material being heated (including thermal conductivity and surface quality), the installation method (bonded, vulcanized, clamped, etc.), ambient temperature, air movement, and the control technology implemented.
Silicone heater mats have a wide range of applications. They are commonly used in canteen kitchen technology and catering, where they provide anti-fog and anti-freeze capabilities. They are also utilized for tool or plate heating in machines, 3D printers, laboratory equipment, composite material repair, and joint curing, among other applications.
Our silicone heaters possess the following product characteristics:
- Continuous temperature resistance: Wire Wound (-60°C to 200°C) and Etched Foil (-60°C to 200°C)
- Continuous temperature resistance with self-adhesive foil: Wire Wound (-60°C to 180°C) and Etched Foil (-60°C to 180°C)
- Short term temperature resistance: Wire Wound (250°C) and Etched Foil (200°C)
- Recommended maximum watt density: Wire Wound (0.8 W/cm²) and Etched Foil (0.8 W/cm²)
- Power tolerance: Wire Wound (+5% -10%) and Etched Foil (+5% -10%)
- Maximum dimensions: Wire Wound (940 x 3000 mm) and Etched Foil (595 x 2500 mm)
- Minimum dimensions: Wire Wound (30 x 30 mm) and Etched Foil (20 x 20 mm)
- Minimum height: Wire Wound (1.1 - 3.0 mm) and Etched Foil (0.8 - 1.5 mm)
- Dimension tolerance: Wire Wound (+/- 1 mm) and Etched Foil (+/- 1 mm)
- Quantities: Wire Wound (from 1 piece) and Etched Foil (from 1 piece)
- Minimum bend radius: Wire Wound (5 mm) and Etched Foil (5 mm)
- Maximum IP-protection: Wire Wound (IP65) and Etched Foil (IP65)
- Adhesive foil option: Wire Wound (yes) and Etched Foil (yes)
- UL certification option: Wire Wound (yes) and Etched Foil (yes)
