Basic information
Square Cartridge Heaters are a versatile heating solution used in various industries. They are particularly suitable for applications where a high amount of power needs to be installed close to the surface of a tool. Examples include cutting knives, sealing stations, and hot plates.
These heaters are made from a soft and malleable stainless steel or nickel sheath, allowing them to be easily pressed into common milled rectangular grooves. Unlike round cartridge heaters, square cartridge heaters do not require cementing or casting in place.
One of the key advantages of square cartridge heaters is their efficient heat transfer over three-fourths of the sheath. They also feature a termination on one side, which allows for easy installation and loading with up to 16W cm² (2.5W in²) of power.
The square cartridge heaters are available in various sizes, including cross sections of 4.5x4.5, 6x6, 8x8, and 10x10 mm. Corresponding round cross sections of Ø4.5, Ø6, Ø8, and Ø10 mm are also available.
