Tulleaf rose, scientifically known as Rosa centifolia, is a popular hybrid rose species that originated in France during the late 16th century. It is a unique blend of several rose species, including Rosa gallica, Rosa moschata, Rosa canina, and Rosa damascena. This particular rose species is highly valued in the perfume industry and is commonly used to create exquisite fragrances and eau de toilette.

Not only is the Tulleaf rose favored for its aromatic qualities, but it is also utilized in various cosmetic products such as creams, lotions, and gels. Its essence, known as absolute, is derived through the extraction process from concretes or pomades using ethanol. This traditional method is often employed in cases where obtaining essential oil from a specific plant proves challenging or even impossible.

After the solvent is distilled, the resulting absolute has a semi-liquid or solid consistency. To enhance its texture and usability, a cosmetic solvent is often added. Absolutes are highly regarded in perfumery for their ability to capture the rich and complex scents of flowers and plants, offering a wide range of olfactory experiences.
