The inspiration behind our company name comes from the tragic Greek myth of Niobe, the Queen of Thebes. Niobe boasted about the beauty of her twelve children, which angered the jealous Titaness Leto. As a result, Niobe lost all her children and was transformed into a weeping rock. Her tears have since flowed down Mount Sipylus, shaping the landscape below. The grieving face of Niobe, carved on the mountaintop, can still be seen today.

NYOBE NV's success story began in Kruishoutem in 1976 under the name BEAULIEU NYLON NV. Our company transforms the virgin polymer into tears, and then spins them into white PA6 BCF yarns.
