The classic smooth velour flooring used to be the go-to choice for tennis surfaces in the past, but with the advancements in tennis rackets, the game has undergone significant changes. These improvements have allowed recreational players to hit the ball with greater speed. As a result, tennis surfaces now need to slow down the ball and provide higher bounce. Consequently, the fast classic velour has become less common in most countries as it no longer meets the updated requirements for tennis surfaces.
On the other hand, performance-oriented tennis players prefer a structureless and unfilled surface. Keeping this clientele in mind, Schöpp has developed a new velour flooring with a very coarse-fiber texture. This innovative flooring has a single filament thickness of 200 dtex, catering specifically to the needs of performance-oriented players.
