Introducing Actran for Trimmed Body: The Ultimate Vibro-Acoustic Modeling Solution
Actran for Trimmed Body combines the exceptional capabilities of Actran and Nastran to offer advanced analysis and modeling for vibro-acoustic systems. Specifically designed for trim components, Actran allows for the modeling and analysis of complex systems with materials that possess high damping and strong acoustic absorption characteristics. These components greatly affect the overall vibro-acoustic behavior of the structure.
Actran models are typically available in physical coordinates, as they account for high damping by utilizing physical coordinates. On the other hand, Nastran is the go-to tool for vibro-acoustic analysis of lightly damped structures and cavities, providing efficient modal analysis solutions for large models like automotive body-in-white or aircraft fuselage. Nastran models are usually available in modal coordinates.
With Actran for Trimmed Body, CAE engineers can harness the best of both worlds - Actran's physical model and Nastran's modal model. This powerful software enables three types of combined models:
1. Merging Actran models and Nastran body-in-white models: Actran for Trimmed Body seamlessly integrates a set of Actran models of individual trim components with a Nastran body-in-white model, resulting in a comprehensive vibro-acoustic model for fully trimmed bodies.
2. Connecting Actran models to existing Nastran models: This feature allows engineers to place an Actran model in its real-life working environment by connecting it to an existing Nastran model. For example, a detailed Actran model of a layered windshield can be connected to a Nastran model of the vehicle body.
3. Enriching Nastran models with Actran components: Actran for Trimmed Body enables the inclusion of a reduced Actran model of a specific component to enhance a Nastran model. The Actran component is defined as a DMIG data block in the Nastran deck.
Thanks to the innovative hybrid methods developed by Free Field Technologies, Actran for Trimmed Body realizes vibro-acoustic analysis of fully trimmed bodies with optimal efficiency and accuracy. These hybrid methods combine and leverage the strengths of both modal and physical approaches while circumventing their weaknesses.
Target Applications:
- Acoustic transmission through components in real-life mounting conditions
- Trimmed body modeling using a combination of Actran detailed models in physical coordinates and a Nastran body-in-white modal model.
With Actran for Trimmed Body, engineers can confidently analyze and model complex vibro-acoustic systems, achieving unparalleled accuracy and efficiency in the process.
