Description
The Deichman Main Library, a revolutionary addition to the Oslo landscape, opened in 2020 and is situated next to the iconic Norwegian Opera House. This cutting-edge library is not only a marvel in design but also sets a new standard in energy efficiency and environmental sustainability by significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions. We are proud to have played a role in this remarkable achievement.
One of the standout features of the library's architecture is its extra-large, solid window frontage profiles. These profiles, which were manufactured at TechnoComposites Domine GmbH using state-of-the-art machinery, make a bold statement on the six-story building. With a thickness of approximately 0.5 meters and multiple hollow chambers, these façade element profiles are easily visible and contribute to the library's distinct aesthetic appeal.
By incorporating such innovative and visually striking elements into the library's design, the Deichman Main Library showcases the advancements that can be achieved in energy efficiency and sustainable construction. This project serves as both a source of inspiration for the architectural community and a testament to the potential for creating environmentally conscious buildings that prioritize both functionality and visual impact.
