Spark erosion involves using electrical discharges to remove material and achieve desired shapes and dimensions. In the wire spark erosion process, a metal wire is unwound under tension and immersed in a dielectric liquid such as water. The current passing through the wire forms an electric arc, which precisely degrades a section of the part according to programmed specifications. The residue created during the process is effectively removed by the water or dielectric liquid. STEEC offers both spark erosion and fine wire micro spark erosion services in which wires of standard sizes with diameters ranging from 0.15 to 0.25 mm are employed, enabling high precision cutting of various mechanical parts.
