Description
The KASAG heat exchanger system provides a solution for energy recovery in the waste water treatment industry. Waste water treatment plants and surface waters possess significant energy potential. For instance, a sewage treatment plant that handles 90 million litres of wastewater per day can generate approximately 4.3 MW of power by simply reducing the wastewater temperature by 1°C using a heat exchanger. The potential for energy recovery from surface water is even greater.
Industries and human activities have led to an increase in water temperatures in surface and stream waters, primarily due to the discharge of treated sewage water. Unfortunately, this rise in temperature has had detrimental effects on the surrounding flora and fauna. However, by extracting heat from purified water in sewage treatment plants or from surface waters and streams, the KASAG heat exchanger system enables a reduction in water temperature, resulting in a positive impact on the overall ecological system.
With the implementation of KASAG heat exchanger systems, not only can the energy requirements of sewage treatment plants be met, but nearby buildings can also be efficiently heated or cooled. This dual benefit makes the KASAG heat exchanger system an environmentally-friendly and sustainable solution for waste water treatment plants and other industries relying on surface water resources.
