Basic information

The active ingredient of Claribaccin is clarithromycin, which is a semisynthetic macrolide antibiotic. It is derived from erythromycin by substituting the CN3O hydroxyl group with an (OH) group at the 6th position of the lactone ring. Clarithromycin, also known as 6-Omethylerythromycin A, acts by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit of susceptible bacteria. This binding prevents the translocation of activated amino acids, inhibiting intracellular protein synthesis in the microorganisms sensitive to clarithromycin. As a result, it exerts its antibacterial effect. Claribaccin is a product used in the healthcare industry to combat bacterial infections.
