BEARGRIP, a company established in 1956, initially started as an importer of tools from Asia to the Netherlands. However, the quality of the tools proved to be inadequate for the demanding customers. In response, the owner and like-minded friends made the decision to produce the tools themselves. From 1957 to 2002, a dedicated group of enthusiasts planned and manufactured various high-quality tools including Allen keys, T-wrenches, screwdrivers, screw bits, and Clip-pack bit sets.

BEARGRIP quickly gained a reputation among connoisseurs for producing tools of exceptional quality. Their success extended beyond the Netherlands, as their riveting pliers gained recognition worldwide. During their peak, BEARGRIP produced an impressive 5,000 units of the Model 802 riveting pliers each month, which could be found on all continents.

The period from 2002 to 2013 was challenging for BEARGRIP, as ownership changed hands. This transition resulted in reduced production and innovation, causing the company to gradually decline. In August 2013, BEARGRIP was put up for sale. Triumf Professional Tools Ltd., a long-standing customer of the Dutch specialist tools manufacturer, saw this as an opportunity and decided to acquire the company.
