The piston rod enters the metering tube, and the damping medium flows from the pressure chamber through the throttle orifices of the metering tube into the volume balance chamber. The energy required for the piston rod's reset is stored in the compressed nitrogen gas between the outer tube and the metering tube. As the piston rod returns to its initial position, the damping medium flows back into the pressure chamber, ensuring a smooth and controlled operation.
