The C-series hydraulic industrial shock absorber, known as COMPENSER®, is designed specifically for use in storage and retrieval machines, smaller conveyor systems, crane systems, test stands, and other light to medium mechanical engineering applications. With its compact design, this hydraulic buffer serves as an efficient end position limitation and emergency end stop in industrial settings. It also offers low reset force, enabling operational push-in cycles at creep speed.

The design and function of the COMPENSER® involve the piston rod entering the metering tube. The damping medium flows from the pressure chamber through throttle orifices in the metering tube, entering the volume balance chamber. The nitrogen gas between the outer tube and the metering tube is compressed, storing the necessary energy for the piston rod reset. As the piston rod returns to its initial position, the damping medium flows back into the pressure chamber.
