Schichtstofftechnik Prause, founded by Paul Joachim Prause in 1974, is a company that specializes in the manufacture and application of leaf springs made from fibre composites. In 1998, the company was renamed P. J. Prause Durotec GmbH. Prior to establishing the company, P. J. Prause played a pivotal role in the development of synthetic leaf springs in Germany while working at 3M Germany, specifically with Scotchply™ glass-fibre composites.

With over 35 years of experience in the industry, Prause Durotec GmbH has established itself as a reputable and reliable player. As a medium-sized company, we employ a team of 16 dedicated professionals and serve a global customer base.

At Prause Durotec, we specialize in manufacturing various configurations of flat leaf springs using high-quality materials such as E-glass, S-glass, and carbon fibers. These materials are combined with epoxy resin to create a strong and durable matrix.

Our manufacturing processes adhere to stringent aeronautical and military standards to ensure the highest quality products. We utilize UD prepregs (UD = unidirectional) to process the materials efficiently and effectively.
