Cyclone Simulation, a subsidiary of Suvis GmbH, specializes in the application of modern numerical methods for the design and optimization of various separator types, such as cyclones. Our computational methods enable us to investigate particle separation from gases in cyclones, accurately predict separation efficiency, and optimize conventional cyclones or develop new high-efficiency cyclones. This can result in cost savings by replacing or complementing expensive filter units, wet cleaners, or electro filters.

When applying numerical methods, specifically CFD simulations, to cyclones, we encounter challenges due to the strong curvature of the streamlines caused by the swirl flow and abrupt changes in flow direction towards the outlet tube. This makes the assumption of isotropic turbulence ineffective.
