The C-series hydraulic industrial shock absorber, also known as COMPENSER®, is designed for use in various industries such as storage and retrieval machines, smaller conveyor systems, crane systems, and test stands within the light to medium mechanical engineering sector. Its compact design makes it ideal for use as an emergency end stop or limitation of the end position in industrial applications where space is limited.

The hydraulic buffer operates by allowing the piston rod to enter the metering tube. The damping medium flows from the pressure chamber through throttle orifices in the metering tube into the volume balance chamber. The nitrogen gas between the outer tube and the metering tube is compressed, storing the energy required for the reset of the piston rod. When the piston rod returns to its initial position, the damping medium flows back into the pressure chamber.
