PROPYLUX® HS products are specifically designed for orthopedic applications, offering essential attributes such as biocompatibility, chemical resistance, and dimensional stability. This high-performance material was introduced to the market in 2004 by Westlake Plastics Europe and has since gained widespread popularity among orthopedic device manufacturers in Europe.

In terms of price, PROPYLUX® HS is comparable to Pomalux. However, it outperforms Pomalux in terms of dimensional stability, particularly when subjected to repeated 134°C Prion autoclaving cycles. This makes it an ideal choice for applications that require reliable performance under such conditions.

Furthermore, PROPYLUX® HS exhibits exceptional chemical resistance to disinfecting and cleaning solutions. It also demonstrates an excellent balance of strength, toughness, and ductility. These qualities make PROPYLUX® HS suitable for various applications in the orthopedic industry, including the production of trial heads and cups for hip implants, knee provisional trials, and impactor applications.

The PROPYLUX® HS product line includes a wide range of options, with 15 different colors and 13 diameters available. All colored materials are formulated with ingredients that comply with FDA regulations, ensuring safety and compatibility. Moreover, the shaped rods have been thoroughly tested and comply with key parts of ISO 10993, further emphasizing the high-quality standards maintained throughout the manufacturing process.
