Depending on the industry and application, extruded tubes may undergo subsequent drawing to meet specific requirements. This may be necessary when precise dimensional control is essential or when tight tolerances are needed, where achieving the desired outside diameter and wall thickness can only be accomplished through cold drawing. In the case of non-heat treatable alloys, strain hardening through drawing may be necessary to achieve the desired mechanical properties. Additionally, there may be special requirements for the microstructure of the tubes that can only be met through this drawing process.
