Originating from China, this Ferro Silicon is a versatile product that finds application in the steelmaking industry. Available in different models including 75, 72, 65, and 45, it comes in the form of lumps or powder and consists of materials such as silicon, iron, carbon, aluminum, sulfur, and praseodymium. The dimensions of the product range from 10-50MM to 0-3MM. The chemical composition of Ferro Silicon includes the aforementioned elements, making it an ideal deoxidizer and alloying agent in steel production. For every 1 metric ton of steel, 3-5kg of FeSi75 is required. Additionally, it serves as an inoculant and nodulizer in casting applications and as a reductant for producing other low carbon ferro alloys. Furthermore, Ferro Silicon plays a crucial role in the manufacture of metal magnesium, where 1.2 metric tons of FeSi75 is needed for every 1 metric ton of magnesium produced. The product is widely used as an essential alloy in the steel and cast iron industry. By reducing silica or sand with coke in the presence of iron, Ferro Silicon is created. It serves as a source of silicon to reduce metals from their oxides and as a deoxidizing agent for steel and other ferrous alloys. In the production of cast iron, Ferro Silicon acts as an inoculant to hasten graphitization.
