Knight Opticals Laser Optics range offers a variety of Thin Film Polarizers designed for optimal performance in the laser industry. These polarizers effectively separate s- and p-polarized light with minimal absorbance, ensuring low loss performance.

Specifically engineered for Ytterbium (Yb) doped lasers, including diode-pumped solid-state lasers (DPSSL) and fiber lasers, as well as Nd:YAG lasers emitting at 1064nm, the laser thin film polarizers are optimized for design wavelengths of 515nm and 1030nm.

Our current stock includes thin film polarizers that operate at either a 45° angle or at the Brewster angle (55.4°). These polarizers have been coated using advanced ion beam sputtered (IBS) technology, resulting in a compact and durable coating suitable for ultrafast laser applications. Additionally, they have a high Laser Induced Damage Threshold (LIDT).

Laser thin film polarizers are commonly used within laser resonators to separate different polarization states. They can serve as an alternative to polarizing beamsplitter cubes or Glan-type polarizing prisms.
