Particularly, the majority of wood pellet consumption is directed towards heat production, accounting for a significant 61.8%. Within the heat sector, these pellets serve three distinct markets - household heating (69%), commercial heating (19%), and heat produced from Combined Heat and Power (CHP) plants (12%).

Furthermore, 38.2% of wood pellets are utilized for energy production, encompassing technologies for generating heat, electricity, or both. It is worth highlighting that these pellet energy generation technologies have reached a mature stage, offering highly efficient and reliable processes.
