The Omba Trust has been dedicated to promoting sustainable development within the Juu002FHoansi community in Namibia for the past two decades. The Juu002FHoansi, a San tribal community, have been limited to a small portion of their traditional land for hunting and gathering. With the support of the Omba Arts Trust, community members showcase their rare skills by creating exquisite jewelry using ostrich egg shells. These beautiful and intricate pieces of art serve as a source of inspiration for a unique collection of fabric prints also available from the Trust.Furthermore, Omba has also collaborated with talented basket weavers from across Namibia. These skilled artisans produce decorative baskets that have become highly sought-after and are commonly found in Namibian households. The baskets represent symbols of wealth and fertility, showcasing a captivating abstraction of these concepts.
