The multi-channel capillaries are an essential component in various industries. These capillaries are composed of numerous single holes, which can either be randomly arranged or neatly organized, depending on the intended application.

To cater to diverse requirements, these capillaries are manufactured using different materials such as soda-lime glass (AR, I860, PH360, etc.), borosilicate glass (DURAN©, PYREX©, SIMAX©, etc.), and aluminum silicate glass (Schott 8252/8253). Each material offers specific properties suited for different industrial applications.

The production process for multi-channel capillaries involves two main methods. The first method involves creating a preform wherein multiple capillaries are mounted and joined together. These capillaries are then drawn and shaped, while the empty spaces within the capillaries are filled with glass rods and evacuated using heat. This ensures that unintended side channels and hollow spaces between the capillaries are sealed, resulting in a closed cross-section punctuated only by the inner geometry of the single capillaries. This production method allows for the creation of consistent profile sizes, ensuring reproducibility in each capillary.
