Claribaccin is a product that contains the active ingredient clarithromycin, which is a semisynthetic macrolide antibiotic. It is derived from erythromycin by substituting the CN3O hydroxyl group with an (OH) group in the 6th position of the lactone ring. This modification results in clarithromycin being 6-Omethylerythromycin A.
